Your New Life Begins Here!

To become a settler in Kotare Village simply follow the steps below:

Step One – Research

Thoroughly familiarise yourself with all the information on the Kotare Village website including the important pages below:

Step Two – Set A Skype Call

Get all your initial questions answered when you make a Skype call with Bob and/or Shaked. Click on the ‘book now’ button below to make your appointment

Step Three – Attend A Hui

KOTARE VILLAGE IS GOING THROUGH A TRANSFORMATION PROCESS, WE ARE NOT ENGAGING WITH NEW (PROSPECTIVE) SETTLERS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. – we are not conducting huis until further notice.

As part of the settlers’ process we invite you to “come hui” with us here at the village. A hui is a New Zealand term, originally from the Maori language, for a group meeting or social gathering. It’s a great opportunity for you to meet the pioneer settlers already living in the village, for you to share your stories and for us to show you our home and share why it’s so special to us. You will learn more about the village, its guiding vision and the developing culture that brings us altogether.

There will be time to walk the land and get a feel of the layout of the village and the surrounding areas and environment. The hui is a great time to eat, work and socialise together and there will be plenty of time to ask any questions that you may have as we are sure there will be many

Step Four – Keep In Touch!

Been to the hui? Don’t forget to keep in touch as we would love to find out how you are feeling after your visit. Perhaps you are ready to jump right in, have decided that Kotare isn’t the one for you or you are hesitant because you have loads more questions that have come up since you were here or perhaps you have a lot of things to work through before you can make the move. Whatever the situation we would love to hear from you so please feel free to contact us again and tell us your thoughts.

Step Five – Membership Application

Now you have made that important decision to take the next step in your new life and embrace your regenerative future with us here at Kotare Village you will need to fill out the Membership Application form. This will go to the Kotare Community Land Trust for final approval following consultation with the Kotare Village Association. Please contact us when you reach this stage and we will send you a link to this form.

We are also asking for a Police Certificate from your country of citizenship and every country you have lived in for more than 12 months in the last 10 years.

Send the COMPLETED form to us here
We will finalise step 1 and send it in for review

For International Police Certificates:

Please send us the Police Report required for Immigration

Step Six – Your Application Is Accepted!

Congratulations this is the final step and we are looking forward to welcoming you as member of Kotare Village. You will now just need to complete the following documents to finalise the settlers process

Sign a Sale and Purchase Agreement and pay membership fee
Enter into lease agreement with Kotare Community Land Trust (KCLT)
